winter 2026
Welcome to 2026! It is hard to believe that we are already 2 months into the new year. I want to start by thanking you all for your support in 2025. Overall, volume was up a bit but it varied from area to area.
2026 is shaping up to be a very interesting year, There are a couple of trends in the relocation industry that will impact on all of us:
-
Quick Start Unpacking
-
We are seeing more large clients introduce this for their transferring employees. This is part of trying to improve the relocation experience which helps with retention and helps in the war for talent when trying to entice people to join their organizations.
-
We are expecting the number of Quick Start to grow significantly this year and possibly even double. Again, some areas will see larger gains than others but there will be an overall increase across the board.
-
-
Our Clients want more information and they want it quicker
-
In 2026, we are asking all organizers to update HSH at the end of each day (for a multi-day service) or at the end of each service.
-
This can be done in the HSH App, as a quick text or as an email
-
On Discard and Donates, it is helpful to know if it going to be a larger job than usual (over 2,000 lbs), if you are returning for another day or if there will be multiple pickups by a charity or hauler
-
On Quick Starts, it is helpful to know the schedule for the next day or if the job is done or for Executive Quick Starts (full home unpack) if we are on track to complete in the hours allocated
-
For any service, it is helpful to know of anything that stands out as a positive or a real or potential issue

We are always interested to hear from you about ways we can make working with Home Sweet Home easier. We have had some really helpful suggestions lately that we are working on and will be ready to roll out by the end of the 1st quarter. The first relates to the increase in Quick Starts mentioned above. We are finalizing an on-line version of the Job Completion Form (JCF) that will allow you to have the family sign on your phone without having to manage extra paper.
The second piece of technology will be an update to the HSH app that will allow you to see pictures on the App after you have uploaded them. This will hopefully address a big pain point on Discard and Donates.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this newsletter. There is information about Policies and Procedures, pictures of the HSH team (click on them for the name) and other useful information.
Regards,
Jeff Heisler
