Welcome to 2024!  I was looking forward to seeing 2023 in the rear view mirror for much of last year and I'm very excited as we are moving into 2024.

 

2023 was a unique year for Home Sweet Home.  It was the first time in 19 years that our volume decreased over the previous year (except for the 2020 COVID year).  I'm sure many of you felt it as we had fewer jobs to offer you.  The combination of significant lay-offs in tech companies, economic uncertainty and a generally cautious outlook by many businesses all combined to negatively impact Home Sweet Home.

 

I'm pleased to say that the pendulum has started to swing the other direction and through the first 6 weeks of 2024 our volume is up almost 20%.  This comes at a time when many organizers have shared with us that their non-Home Sweet Home business has slowed down.  I'm hopeful that we will be able to provide you with additional work to help fill that gap.

 

One trend we are continuing to see in 2024 is our clients wanting more updates from us on progress with our services and with additional depth of information.  With that in mind, I encourage all of you to use the Home Sweet Home app to keep your coordinator up to date as often as possible.

 

2024 is also a milestone year for Home Sweet Home.  April will mark the 20th anniversary of when I started the company.

 

If you are attending the NAPO convention in Long Beach, please celebrate with us at our Appetizer Reception.

 

 It is amazing to look back at how far the company has come in that time.  It is a credit to all of you and the coordinators you work with in our office every day that the company is thriving after 20 years.

 

I was recently reminded of a lyric by Elton John: "(We are) still standing after all of this time!"

 

I hope 2024 is a year of happiness, good health and prosperity for all of us.
